It was a blast to work with Jeremy! He brings his energy, technical skills and support for his team every day. He brightens meetings with his energy and encourages participation in fun ways. His attitude is particularly valuable with remote work when voluntary participation is less common. He is closely involved with his teams while letting them operate independently. His management style really seems to enable and support productive work in a positive work environment.
He is an active developer as well. I've seen many of the projects he's worked on. He keeps his technical skills sharp and can pick up new technology quickly - and enjoys it!
As an indirect report to Jeremy I always felt I could go to him for support. He was eager to help and unblock issues if I ran into anything. He was reliable and made me feel welcomed when I first arrived.
I recommend Jeremy to any company looking for energy, technical prowess, and a supportive leader in their technical leadership.
As Director of Engineering, Jeremy is an exceptional leader with a unique ability to turn challenges into opportunities. His leadership during a significant organizational transformation within software development over the past year has not only improved quality, productivity, and morale but also inspired me to achieve my career goals. His approach is about solving problems and inspiring and motivating the team.
Jeremy\'s leadership skills are evident in his ability to positively influence others, be it his peers or team members. His tireless defense and support for his team have earned him respect and recognition throughout the company.
Jeremy\'s leadership style instills a sense of pride and confidence in his team. His approach to handling conflicts between business entities, which is both outgoing and firm, is a testament to his leadership and is worthy of praise. It provides a sense of security and confidence to the team, knowing their leader can navigate challenging situations effectively.
Jeremy, thanks for your tenacious dedication to the Engineering team. You are an inspiring leader, and working with you has been a transformative experience for me, professionally and personally.
I am pleased to have the privilege to recommend Jeremy Kenedy as an outstanding leader in the software engineering field. I had the pleasure of working directly under Jeremy’s supervision during my time at Evosus.
Jeremy is a highly dedicated and skilled engineering leader with a deep understanding of software development processes. He excels at organizing and leading cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between product owners, developers, and QA engineers. His experience helped increase efficiency of product delivery from ideation to deployment. His expertise with Agile/Scrum methodologies and branching strategies were key in driving forward process improvements for our teams.
Beyond his technical skills, Jeremy is an exceptional communicator that fosters a positive and supportive work environment, encouraging open dialogue between him and his team members. His commitment to professional growth is evident in his continuous learning and willingness to share his expertise. He is constantly reading a new book or coding outside of work in order to continue to add skills to his toolbelt. He also prioritizes the development of his team members, providing opportunities for learning and advancement.
I strongly recommend Jeremy for any organization seeking a talented and dedicated engineering leader. He is a valuable asset to any team and will make a significant impact at whatever organization is fortunate enough to have him.
I had the privilege of working with Jeremy as his supervisor during his tenure as a Director of Software Engineering at NV5. Jeremy Kenedy is an exceptional leader and an asset to any organization fortunate enough to have him on their team.
During his time NV5, Jeremy Kenedy consistently demonstrated a remarkable blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and unwavering commitment to achieving our organization\'s goals. One of Jeremy Kenedy\'s most outstanding qualities is his ability to lead teams. Jeremy has a lot of experience managing software engineers, but this role had additional challenges as many of our engineers were dispersed worldwide. His leadership style encouraged open communication, idea sharing, and a strong sense of ownership among the team, leading to increased productivity and a more engaged workforce. One tactic he took when he felt like he was getting low engagement in meetings was establishing a rotation of who would lead the meeting. This instantly improved the dynamic and helped reinforce the culture of team leadership.
Jeremy Kenedy has a deep technical knowledge that sets him apart as a software engineering leader. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of software development methodologies, programming languages, and emerging technologies. Jeremy isn’t just a leader who might have coded long ago. He continues to stay active with projects in GitHub and can actually relate better to his engineers as he truly understands the details and nuances of the work he is asking his teams to perform.
Jeremy is an outstanding communicator and collaborator. He has a unique ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that project objectives are well-defined and aligned with the company\'s strategic goals. He receives and implements feedback well. Our leadership team was blessed to have access to an Agile Coach, and Jeremey met regularly with her and was committed to continuous improvement and agile methodologies.
Jeremy Kenedy\'s dedication to his own professional development and the growth of his team is truly commendable. In one instance, Jeremy advocated subscription access for our engineering contractors to have access to mature resources for software development. This not only enhanced the skills of individual team members but also contributed to the overall strength and capability of our software engineering department. Jeremy earned the trust of the engineering team by continuing to advocate on their behalf and ensure they feel supported.
In summary, Jeremy Kenedy is an exceptional Director of Software Engineering who consistently delivered outstanding results at NV5. His leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on the organization.
I wholeheartedly recommend Jeremy Kenedy to any organization seeking a dynamic and visionary leader in the field of software engineering.
While working for FocusVision Worldwide Inc I had the opportunity to work under Jeremy. Jeremy's approach to management was to act as our peer in most respects. He did all he could to advocate for his team members, whether it be to push educational opportunities like conferences, helping us set our yearly goals, or giving advice on how to handle various social issues within teams. Because of the mutual respect Jeremy inspired among his team members, we all wanted to work just a little bit harder for him.
Aside from his management chops, Jeremy is a coding machine. It only takes a quick glance at his github to see this guy is outputting an almost unbelievable amount of contributions to the open source community. Any team would be lucky to have Jeremy on it.
Jeremy was a total pleasure to work for. He was able to keep the workplace environment productive and fun, and encouraged others to move through negativity. He was direct when talking and wasn’t afraid to take action when needed.
Overall, Jeremy was a rare manager who just wanted things to be better. Would highly recommend.
I had the opportunity to work Jeremy as my manager while working at Focus Vision Inc. I really appreciated the time and effort he put into advocating for not only the engineers he directly managed but for the department as a whole. He did a good job communicating and was enthusiastic about doing his best!
Few people have the opportunity to work for a manager that really promotes career growth, and I was lucky enough to have one when reporting to Jeremy. Jeremy was my direct report for about 8 months, and in that time I came to rely on Jeremy a great deal. Jeremy is a beacon of positivity, and works hard to make his positive ideals come to fruition in the workplace. Whether it is through advocating for the engineers he manages, pushing and implementing daily health activities such as stretches, or enriching our careers through learning oppurtunities, Jeremy is always looking out for his team. Any organization would be lucky to have Jeremy as a employee.
After meeting Jeremy for the first time, I was both impressed and looked forward to him being a part of the department's leadership. From the get-go Jeremy constantly strove to improve everything he could. He would not just listen to concerns, but actively seek to remedy any and every issue brought to his attention. Jeremy truly led by example, demonstrating professionalism in every interaction and taking ownership of finding solutions. Not only was Jeremy a great manager by lifting others up around him and inspiring confidence, but he also has valuable technical knowledge and is a fantastic developer. His many open-source contributions to the Laravel community make it obvious how passionate he is about the work in this industry. Jeremy loves what he does, and has the uncanny ability to make that enthusiasm rub off onto others. I am thankful to have had Jeremy as my manager and am convinced he could excellently perform any position in this industry.
Jeremy is an excellent Engineering Manager and I had the pleasure of working with him at FocusVision. He's a great mentor and always provided support to the team when needed. He's also a contributor to many open-source projects.
Any employer would be lucky to have him and I'm glad to have an opportunity to work with him.
Jeremy is an amazing developer, and one of the most talented web engineers I've had the pleasure of working with. Jeremy brought his passion and expertise to Sq1, and helped our development team get to the next level.
His contributions as both a technical leader and mentor revolutionized client projects and the team members working under his leadership.
Jeremy came on board when the development team (and the company) was at its peak expansion. We were transitioning from a small agency to a national corporation and gaining more large-scale complex dev projects. We were in dire need of someone to help our systems and processes grow up to meet the demand of our projects.
Jeremy quickly took the helm of leadership and implemented improved coding standards, version control, security, and more for our team. He was an incredible mentor as well as manager to the developers and consistently demonstrated that he had their backs.
He never hesitated to help someone when it was asked and saved my butt on numerous occasions. He's fiercely passionate about his role, keeps his employees' best interests at heart in all that he does, and encourages high standards for those around him. In addition to that, our clients loved him!
Jeremy is one of the most passionate coders I have ever met. I worked with him at Sq1, and as the department lead he was always excited to share his knowledge and latest discoveries with the team to encourage the constant learning that is necessary in this field.
His enthusiasm is contagious and he continuously strives to help others improve. I admire and appreciate that he truly and consistently puts his team first. These are all valuable qualities in a lead and in a developer.
Few people have the opportunity to report to a Web Engineering Director who is also a coach and a mentor— but I did when I worked with Jeremy at Sq1.
Jeremy was well-organized with all of the agency's projects and always tried to go out of his way to perfect each of the clients' setups no matter how much effort that would take. I was particularly impressed with Jeremy's passion for development work during and after work hours. He was always taking his time after work to contribute to the community with his open-source projects. His ability to juggle multiple projects and still be focused and offer help to his interns was unlike any I've seen or heard of before.
Oh, and he would always bring the interns and other staff members for coffee after our morning meetings to get a chance to know each of us better.
Jeremy would be a great asset to any team!
I worked with Jeremy during my time at Sq1. We hired Jeremy to lead our web development team as we began building out a custom learning management system. Jeremy jumped right in and helped create structure and processes where it was desperately needed. He was critical in getting sites up to security standards, creating process for QA/deployments, etc.
Jeremy is incredibly passionate about his work. He takes time outside of work to continue to educate himself on updates and new things happening in the code world. This passion comes through in his work.
He was great to work with and would be a solid asset to anyones dev team!
Jeremy has been pivotal in my growth as a relatively new developer. Always being supportive and guiding me in the right direction to continue elevating my programming skill set. Jeremy is kind and a fantastic mentor, his technical skill set is expansive and always knows where to look to find his answers.
Jeremy is quick to define technical requirements that are on point and is an amazing communicator between clients, account executives, and development teams.
Jeremy is passionate about his work and his enthusiasm is an inspiration to myself and others who work closely with him. I consider myself lucky to have had him as my manager.
I worked with Jeremy at Rubicon International. He worked on a few different projects. One project was our main web application, which needed updates to the user interface.
Jeremy improved the styling and layout. We also needed a token authentication service for an API we built and he provided that for us in a timely manner. He provided good documentation for the service.
He was eager to find other ways to help with the projects.
Jeremy is the manager we’d always needed in our office. His programming knowledge has been a huge benefit for our team! Jeremy has a great ability to not only get the job done very well, but to also teach all of the other developers with clarity and patience. Jeremy strives to support, and encourage, best practices across the board with whatever language or technology he works with; be it Laravel, vanilla PHP, SASS, JavaScript, etc.
Jeremy is always finding new ways to improve his work which, in turn, pushes all of us to improve ours. Though the development field is ever-changing, and doing so quickly, Jeremy always seems to be at the forefront of new ideas. His pure excitement can be seen through the work he does on his own and on the job. This excitement is contagious!
Beyond Jeremy’s highly technical skills and breadth of development knowledge, he is a clear communicator between the development team, project managers, account executives, and clients. His ability to clearly define system requirements, scope work, and provide exceptional feedback truly encapsulates his skill and leadership.
I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work so closely with Jeremy as my boss, a friend, and a mentor!
Jeremy is a great manager and lead developer. He is extremely knowledgeable about code and development ecosystems and is constantly learning more.
I can't count the times he has come into work ready and excited to share with us something new he learned the night before.
As a manager, Jeremy puts his developers first. That doesn't mean he does whatever we want, but it's clear that every decision he makes is with our best interests at heart. He encourages us and helps us grow as developers, and he has fostered an incredible, collaborative culture on our team.
I worked with Jeremy during my time at Sq1 and was impressed by his knowledge and passion for development. He continually went above and beyond when answering questions or providing solutions to difficult problems.
He is interested in getting to the root of a problem, rather than just creating a temporary fix, something I deeply appreciated about working with him.
I worked with Jeremy for a year or so while I was at Sq1. While we worked on separate teams (I led our UX team, he led the Dev team), our projects often overlapped. It didn't take long to see that Jeremy is truly passionate about his work. He loves what he does, and it shows.
Personally, I value that quite highly. You can train someone up to get experience, but it's difficult to instill a passion for the work. It's a quality that helps him excel in his work and lead his team of developers.
I enjoyed working with Jeremy whenever the opportunity arose, and I'd welcome the chance to do so again in the future!
